Saving my $50 :)

There is no doubt that I would save it. I would save it for something big, for my brother. I will maybe get my brother something related to Marvel characters. Like Captain America, Ironman, Spiderman, etc… He loves them! Otherwise, I would get myself something. For example a new bike. I would get myself a new bike with the money in the future. But another example may be saving up to get my friends or my family gifts for their like, birthday, anniversary, or just a party. In conclusion, I will be saving up the money for my brother, myself, or friends/family members. What would you do with $50?

Winning the school raffle!

  If I won the school raffle, for $50, I would spend it. I would spend it on gifts for my family. Somehow I would slyly ask them what they were wanting. I would ask my grandpa (Tata) first to see if he wanted anything $50 or over if it was then I would get him that first. Tata would be the first one I did because he does so much for me I want to give back. Next, I would do my parents, see what they wanted (slyly) and try my best to get that without them knowing. No offense to my sister but she would be last if at all, it really just depends on what the other 3 want. What would your parents/grandparents ask for?

HELP or NO HELP






If I had $50 that I had won from a school raffle I would save it up until I earn a little bit more.
It is my belief that saving up for people and animals in need is a good thing. I want to help people who have no food or no shelter. I want to make them feel like they are home and not just the middle
I want to make them feel like they are home and not just the middle of the city. All the time just hiding in a corner. Afterward, I would also save up to give to animals in need. Like animals that are injured or had lost their parents. Life isn’t fair to everyone even me, but other people need more attention than me. I wud love to save up and donate to people in need. What would you do if you helped the homeless?

What I would do with $50

What I would do with $50. I would use half of it on a magic the gathering storm deck. And then save the other half for other things later on to make other decks or to buy other cards. But if I do I might not be able to get other things later on. I would use the other half for incase a new card comes out that I want so I could buy it. So in conclusion I would use the $50 and split it in half so I can save some spend some.

Save it or spend it

In my opinion, saving money is important, because you might spend it on something that you will not like or never use ever again. So, I would save that amount and not use it until I have a general idea of what I want to buy. However, if I did want to spend it on something, then I would probably want to spend it on books or buying movie dvds, because I love reading and watching movies. Also, I think that I would spend it on electronics, because the companies that make them are releasing more and more of them. I would need to save up lots of money, but $50 is a little boost. My first choice however, would be saving up, for anything I want or will want. If you could do one of these, would you save it or would you spend it?

So this will be your first blogging assignment of the year. Without going even one step further, I’d like you to know the definition of this word, especially examples 1b and 2. Got it? Good. Now toss some of that cleverness into your writing. As explained in class, blogging is a different style of writing that would be used for an essay. Use your wit. Be a little conversational. Toss in a relevant cartoon or two like this:

The topic for this writing is as discussed in class: What would you choose to do with $50?

Imagine you won $50 in the school raffle. There are no strings attached to the cash. Spend it all, save it all, or some combination of the two. Try to think this through and offer some specific examples. Like if you are going to choose to save some, is there something in particular you are hoping to buy later? And try to be very descriptive about what purchases you might make.

Blogging 101

Welcome to the Blog! We will be using this throughout the year as a class forum. A few simple rules for posting and commenting apply...such as:





Posts


Must have a catchy, relevant title. (This post’s title is Blogging 101)


Must be 75+ words in length.


Must be free of any spelling errors. (Word choice errors are not spelling errors. For example; there/their/they’re, choose/chose, loose/lose, to/too/two, etc…)


Must end with an interesting exit strategy. (A question or challenge to the reader)





Comments


Must be 50+ words in length.


Must follow the same spelling guidelines as posts.


Must address something specific the writer has said and *must add something new to the post (see below)


Must also end with an intriguing question for the writer.





Two additional rules:


You must be the 1st or 2nd person to comment on a writer’s post. If there are already two comments, choose another student’s post.


Writers should (not must) respond briefly to all comments.





THE GOLDEN BLOGGING RULE: No Negative Comments. Ever. Politely disagreeing and giving an example of why you might disagree is certainly ok. Respond to posts the way you would want others to respond to your posts.





Lastly, I suggest you use Google Docs to write your posts and comments. Why? Two reasons: One, it has a word count feature under the Tools menu. And two, the spell checking feature is going to be far better than the one in Blogger (though it does not distinguish between “i” and “I”...but of course I do and you should know this anyway!). You can then copy and paste your work into the blog.
