Israel

Israel is cool to me because that’s where Jesus did all of his miracles (mostly in Jerusalem.) That is the country he picked, and everyone believed that he was the son of God, until the “military” persuaded them to think the opposite, that’s why they crucified him. But on the third day he rose again, and sits at the right hand of The Father. Other than Jesus and The Father, Israel is a very small country (8,522 sq. mi) which is smaller than Lake Michigan. Israel also now has more Jewish people than the U.S does (we used to have the most of them, but they past us.) Which is a big deal because the Jewish people are Gods chosen people.And Israel got it back. Do you think you would like Israel?

The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea located in Jordan is one of the most amazing and mysterious places on earth. The Dead Sea has the lowest elevation on Earth. The Dead Sea is one of the saltiest lakes in the world you can float there without trying due to the high salt level.. The Dead Sea is about 8.6 times saltier than the ocean. The Dead sea is so salty that no fish or mammals can live there only few bacteria. Would you ever visit the Dead Sea I would.

I would go to...

If I were to go anywhere in Southwest Asia I would choose to go to Israel. The first reason I chose Israel is for the reason it is the birthplace to the religions Judaism and christianity. My family has a close friend who follows Judaism. An interesting fact about Judaism is at the heart of Torah five books that make up the jews text. I would choose to go to Israel due to the fact that it also is the birthplace of christianity, one of the most studied religions in the United States. The religion is based around the teachings of jesus. Where would you travel and what reason?

Southwest Asia is a dry climate even though the place is surrounded by water. The population  grows rapidly, demanding for water. Though this place is dry, it has vast forests and fertile valleys. The two rivers, Tigris and Euphrates, are used for irrigation so the people can grow crops. This region is surrounded by seven seas,  the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. Would you live here?

Clash or clan?

My interesting story about the Middle east. Yesterday a huge fight with Israeli officers and Arab protesters, left 4 dead 16 in jail and 15 others injured.  In my opinion,  I think this will not be the last outbreak. I feel like something similar will happen in the near future. So the recent extreme conflict between Arabs and Israeli people should result in a border and a 24/7 border guard system. Next, this whole throwing stones and setting of fireworks AT POLICE OFFICERS, is just immature so even though they are fighting for a reasonable cause, their actions are not acceptable. I hope you liked my view of this recent Middle East clash. What do you think should be done?

Blog Episode IV: Taking Us to Dizzying Heights in the Midd...I mean Southwest Asia

The Middle East is neither middle nor east (thank you, Eurocentrism!), but it certainly is an interesting place to study. Sure, there have been many wars and terrible conflicts for...well, for centuries in this area, and that makes it a conflict-filled region. But aside from that, being the birthplace of the three greatest (and by greatest I am saying largest) monotheistic religions in the world, it has religious significance to a large percentage of the world's people. And there is more than just religion to draw tourists to the region. Damascus might be the world's oldest continuously populated city. In Turkey you could easily eat breakfast in Asia, have lunch in Europe, then zip out to a movie back in Asia all without leaving the country! The place with the lowest elevation on earth and the tallest building in the world can both be found in this region, too. Or how about this latest little oddity: if you are born in Jerusalem, in what country were you born? What I am saying is that there are amazing things to see and do in this often troubled little corner of the world. Your task? Find one or two of these cool places and talk about them here. Include a picture or a short video (See the insert video button above?) like the one I have found for you that helps bring life to your topic.

THE ANCIENT GREEKS

The ancient Greeks where amazing people they came up with writing, wheels, and pyramids. The thing I like the most is using the Nile to do everything. The Nile made it so they could grow crops and fish, but that only covers the food part of it. The Nile was also used for  transporting goods to people downstream like logs food and a lot of other things. If I lived in ancient greece I would like to see  how they used the Nile. Would you?
