The World's Tallest Building

Burj Khalifa has been the tallest building in the world since 2010. The building is in Dubai. It is also known as Burj Dubai. “Burj” is Arabic for “Tower”. It is 828 meters tall and had 163 floors. The tower is on a man-made lake that is designed to wrap around the tower and provide dramatic views of it. At the top of the building is a public viewing deck. I think that standing in the viewing area would be really cool, do you?

  1. The Burj Khalifa sounds like it would be really fun to be on. Did you know that the construction began on 21 September 2004, with the exterior of the structure completed on 1 October 2009. My grandma has also been on the Burj Khalifa, and she told me it was amazing. I do think it would be really cool to be standing in the viewing area. Would you like to live next to the Burj Khalifa?

    1. I wouldn't want to live next to the Burj Khalifa. I think it would always be filled with tourists and it would be too crowded for me. I did not know that the construction took that long!

  2. Nice job Kelly! Burj Khalifa sounds like an amazing place to visit. Did you know that Burj Khalifa is three times as tall as the Eiffel Tower, and two times as tall as the Empire State Building? It must be huge! As you know Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, but did you know it also holds six other world records: tallest freestanding structure in the world, highest number of stories in the world, highest occupied floor in the world, highest outdoor observation deck in the world, elevator with longest travel distance in the world, and tallest service elevator in the world? Would you like to visit it?

    1. I would love to visit the Burj Khalifa! I did not know about all of those records but I knew about a few! The Burj Khalifa must be huge! My brother visited the Eiffel Tower over the summer and said it was huge! I can't believe how big this would be!
