Lacey Koughan Dances her way to Success!

Ever since Lacey Koughan was 12 years old, she has wanted to own a dance school. Just before she turned 17, she danced her way down the the provincial building to establish her dance new school, 24dancepei. She has been dancing since she was four years old, and now she’s been teaching for four years! Lacey has always had a
dream of opening a dance school, but never really got the idea.

To help Lacey learn about running her own business, she went to a co-op course in 11th grade and got transferred to Kinetic Fitness in Queen Street, Charlottetown. She did a lot of training there and learned a lot about the world of business, but she did have the crumbing cleaning, too. Although, Lacey didn’t mind because she is a hard worker.

The co-owner of Kinetic Fitness, Nick MacDonald, has allowed Lacey to share space to run her business. Confederation Centre’s Young Company has helped her a little bit when it comes to money, but Lacey is using most of her money from other jobs to make her dream come true. Lacey’s future goals and plans are to become a competitive team, try out for Anne of Green Gables, and start a YouTube channel with her sister. Think about it, what difference can you make that leads to many changes?

  1. I love to dance too! One thing that I noticed is that she wants to start a YouTube Channel. I would also love to do that. The only problem is I have no clue what to do?! Great Job and I love the pics!

  2. That is really cool. I wouldn't be able to imagine teaching people how to dance at a fairly young age! (especially because I do not remember how to dance from when I took classes when I was younger) I love how you included the part about how she learned to run a business. Would you ever consider teaching people to dance?

  3. I would LOVE to teach people how to dance. As of right now, I feel like my future purpose in life is to teach those with disabilities to dance.

  4. I really like dancing. It is really fun and a really good exercise! I think it is really cool that she knew what she wanted to do in her life at such a young age. I still don't know exactly what I want to do. It is nice that you know what your passion is right now! Have you ever thought about running a dance class yourself?
