Grand Palace

Ah Thailand, the place my dad is from, a beautiful place with great once in a lifetime experiences. The weather in Thailand is generally hot and humid typical of its location within the tropics. Generally speaking, Thailand can be divided into three seasons: “hot”, rainy, and “cool” season. One other reason I believe you should go to Thailand is the great sights like The Grand Palace which was used as a palace for kings and other rulers until King Ananda mysteriously died when it was turned into a tourist attraction. The Grand Palace also holds The Emerald Buddha, the oldest and most famous Buddha statue there is. I really have to say if you don't at least search this up you are missing out.

  1. I did some research, and it turns out that the robes on the Emerald Buddha are changed every season by the king of Thailand. This event marks an important ritual in the Buddhist calendar. Thai kings stopped living in the Grand Palace years ago but the palace is still used for ceremonies and holidays. What struck me as most odd is the fact that you have to be properly dressed. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves. No bare feet are allowed. Women can have no see-through clothing, bare shoulders, etc. And if you show up improperly dressed. You must pay for appropriate clothing. I also suggest you read Kiran's blog, because she also mentioned temples in her writing.
