Holi jolly festival?!

Festival of love? what is that? Its the most colorful festival of the year. It is the one day of the year that everyone forgets the past and moves forward with love. It also marks the start of spring. They gather around statues and pray.

They have color fights to bring positivity into their life. They play with before Holi they have a big bonfire. They have fireworks late at night before Holi ends. They have big parties with friends and family. They get dressed up. There is also a color run where they run and color chalk gets on them. I would like to do the color run,

  1. This seems like so much fun. I wonder what the history of this holiday is? Do all the cities in India celebrate it? What is the use of being dressed up if you are gonna get covered with chalk? I have seen people celebrate it in our area but where do they do and how do the people from newer generations learn about this about their culture? Do they have special foods that they eat?

  2. This seems very interesting, and kind of fun. I think that throwing colors at each other is like a food fight, and can be really exciting. Is there a story to this holi festival? I know that the word holi comes from holika, But I still don't know where it came from. Since you like festivals so much, I would think that visiting Aaliyah's post about the maldives festivals would be interesting. It has allot of cool facts!
