Diwali or Deepavali is a five day festival of lights. This festival is celebrated by millions of Hindus across the world. This festival is celebrated during the Hindu New Year, it celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. This is one of the most significant festivals in India, millions of people attended firework displays, prayers, and celebratory events every autumn. To celebrate, houses decorate with candles, and colorful lights. Many other people create beautiful murals on the ground using colorful rice. I would love to go and visit a festival because they seem so peaceful, and calm. What do you think of this festival?
The festival sounds like a lot of fun. Ithink you should read Aswath's writing piece because it is also about festivals in India. When I looked Diwali up it said that it could be celebrated by anybody not just Hindu's which I thought was pretty cool.
