Is Maldives a fish, a country, or both? ILLUMINATI IS A DEAD MEME BUT WHO CARES RIGHT NOW IT IS CONFIRMED----- CONFUSION 100
When you hear Maldives you think the country because if you don't then you can't have a A or B in this class. Anyway, according to the great invention Google Maldives is a sunny tropical island chain of ring shaped atolls (Don't know what that means even though I got a advanced score on the M-STEP. Weird, huh.) which are made up of over 1,00000 coral reefs. (Wait, 1,000. Typed too many 0's) Surprisingly, Maldives being surrounded by fish makes a great fish market where they have maldives (no capital letter) which isn't an actual fish it's just cured tuna and it originated from Maldives yet it has such an original name. Coconuts are a major part of many dishes in Maldives and can be served in grated form, as milk or as coconut oil which is used to deep fry foods. Popular dishes include garudhiya, which is a fish broth served with rice, lime, chili and onions, and mas huni, or shredded smoked fish with grated coconuts and onions. Other popularities include #This link for more now go away JK

The Ethnically Diverse Food of Myanmar
Myanmar is full of mouthwatering street food, but some of its best comes from a city called Yangon. Its cuisine is extremely diverse, and includes many flavors and techniques from across Asia. Though it is quite a flight to get there, and the streets are chaotic, the food will prove more than worth your while.
Some of the best food types in Yangon are Shan noodles, samosa salad, mohinga, and rice and curry. Shan noodles are a light noodle dish served commonly with tomato and chicken paste. Samosa salad is a savory choice that is made up of chopped samosas, fried shallots, potato slices, fried chickpeas, and cabbage. It is often served with a flavorful broth.
To summarize, you should definitely check out Yangon or just Myanmar in general if you find yourself in South Asia, as you can find some spectacular dishes for ludicrously low prices and great flavor. It is a beautiful experience and I highly recommend it.

Shivaratri
Shivaratri, meaning the night of Shiva, is celebrated amongst many Hindus around the world. Shiva is the Hindu god of destruction(destroyer of evil) and is prophesied an end to life as we know it with his powerful dance. He is also one of the major three gods. While there may not be as much of a hype here, the real festivals take place in India. There are many cultural and traditional aspects involved in this festival that originated from many, many legends as to why we celebrate Maha Shivaratri. These traditions might vary from family to family, but the most common ones include offering water, milk, and flowers to Shivalingam also known as Shiva's icon. Another aspect of Shivaratri is the fasting. I feel like all of these festivals and their aspects are important especially to young people like me who grew up in a totally different country because it gives us a chance to connect with our heritage. What are your thoughts on Shivaratri?

Elephant Spa
Elephant Spa
Guruvayur, India is the best place for elephants. An elephant camp in Guruvayur called Punnathur Kotta Elephant Yard houses 58 elephants and covers 11.5 acres of land. Elephants are offerings at this camp which are made to the Guruvayur Temple. They also train for temple rituals and sessions.
Not only is this an elephant camp, but it is also an elephant spa. This is an annual event where elephants get pampered for a whole day during the month of July. The spa includes cleaning, hosing, scrubbing, and massaging of the elephants. On top of that, the spa is a popular destination for tourists. The main reason for this spa is that July is the month of rejuvenation in the country.
Kabaddi in India
Kabbadi is a fun sport that originated in ancient India. Many people in villages play this game, but it also a professional sport. This is how to play; On a large rectangular court, there are 2 teams. Each team has 7 people. One team is offense and one team is defense, it alternates. The court is cut in half each team has a side. Then the offensive side sends a raider into the other side. If the raider gets to the end of the court and back to his side the offensive team gets a point, but there is a catch you have to say kabbadi over and over repeatedly while on the defending side so if so stop to take a breath you have to go back to your team and the other team gets a point. Also when you are a raider on the other team's side the defending team can try to tackle you. That is why most kabbadi players stay in a low squatted position while they are raiding.
Spice Skin Care?!!?!?!
For thousands of years, India has altered the common use of turmeric in their cultural dishes by using it as a beauty regimen. Most of the times turmeric is used in common dishes like curry, cashew butter chicken masala, and even turmeric lattes. Indians claim turmeric spice can help clear acne, remove scarred tissue and even whiten teeth. They sometimes say it is a “detox for your face”. I'm not entirely sure I would ever put a spice on my face especially because its yellow and it would probably stain my face or make it yellow.

3 New Foods you've never heard of *MUST READ*
These are some bizarre foods that I don't think you will ever try but they still interesting, I guess. The first food I will talk about is Tilli In Pune sounds interesting, but looks like worms in rice. Just look at this picture would you want it in your mouth or on your table right next to you.
Doesn't that look disgusting. The next food is Hilsa Eggs in Bengal it looks a little bit better then the last food but still is disgusting. It is caviar that is fried and is served as a snack and can also be served as a main dish.
Still looks bad but what do you expect when your reading 3 bizarre foods in India. The last food of your tour is Bhunni from Gnarwal. To be honest it looks like dry steak cut small and put into a bowl, But it's actually made with goat liver, guts, and blood. I would never eat that.
Well thank you for reading my bizarre food tour!

~School Lunches in South Asia~
You walk into the lunch room. What do you smell? Maybe the french fry aroma wafts into you nose. Or the sushi your best friend broght for today. Or maybe the ice cream you have to microwave to get it to be edible, not rock solid! Well, some kids don't have those smells. These are some main lunch dishes a typical kid in South Asia would eat! #1Bangledesh: Fish, vegtables, curry, and peas.
#2Next, India: Flatbread, butter, yogurt, vegtables.
#3 Finally, Sri Lank: Dhal, beets, rice.
#1
#2
#3
Backround Info: Dhal is a curry, mostly made with lentils. Flat bread is literaly FLAT bread! Curry is a very wide variety of things such as Stepen Curry (haha) but what we mean is a sauce or soup made from vegtables, meat, tumeric and other spices!
Festivals In Nepal
There are many different festivals in Nepal. From all of the fantastic ones, I picked two that I found the most interesting. One of which is called Holi. It is a very colourful and playful festival. Holi celebrated in the Terai on one day, and in Kathmandu and the hill regions on the next day. People smear coloured powders on their friends, relatives, and family members, and throw coloured water and water balloons. It’s important not to take any valuables out with you on this day because no one wants to have paint all over their belongings. Well, unless they are sealed in a plastic bag! Next festival I found very interesting is Gai Jatra, which after translation means literally "festival of cows".The oldest reason for the festival incorporates a cult and a worship of the ancient god of death – Yamaraj. The festival's purpose is to celebrate death in a positive way. Every family who has recently lost a member is supposed to decorate a cow and lead it through the city. For each lost male, the oldest boy in the family dresses as a cow. For each female, the youngest one gets to dress up. They can then take on the role of the lost family member. Both of those festivals are very meaningful to the people of Nepal. If you could, would you participate in either? I think it would be a pretty great learning experience, as well as lots of fun!
( दिवाली)Divaalee The The Festival of Lights
Divaalee , in English, Diwali is the Hindu festival of light. Many variations of it are celebrated all around the world. It originated from India representing the gift of light. Interesting, right? It is celebrated every late autumn in the northern hemisphere and early spring in the southern. It has some reference to Hindu culture and religion but is not celebrated for that. It is a 5 day event leading up to the most wide spread holiday in India and one of the largest in the world. It is so large even Donald Trump celebrated it in the white house last year. Usually it is celebrated, and leads up to many fireworks and candles and any other lights. The festivities may be bland, but they are still interesting. Do some of your own research. would you celibate it yourself? At the end, Divaalee is one of the largest events in the world.
mr hopper hail Napal
Let's start off with the most disgusting food that has ever been in Nepal. The most popular food in Nepal is Del and I personally don't like it. Because it has vegetables and nobody likes vegetables. Some other countries that eat it is India, and Bhutan. Some of the best things to do in Nepal is go hiking on the 7 tallest mountain ranges in the world. Or go hiking on the Himalayas. or go bike riding or enjoy the view when your 100,000 feet in the air dropping from a plane and skydiving to the ground while you scream for dear life. This is Avion's Nepal story writing that he was forced to do and thanks for reading.
Sri Lanka: WARNING! My Stupidity will be Shown..Shield your Brain!
What do you picture when you hear Sri Lanka? If you're a person that doesn't imagine one of Nicki Minaj's rap songs while the music is blasting so loud it feels like your brain is gonna melt and ooze out of your ears...then you are normal...unlike me. But there is more to Sri Lanka than just the name or the vision you get after hearing the name. One thing you probably didn't know is the food, one of the most common food eaten there is a plate of rice and curry, simple yet delicious, my type of food. And just sayin' I already tried that before...ehm...from the...cough cough...supermarket...but it would be nice if I get to try the real authentic type. Also, there are a lot of different festivals like, Duruthu Poya, or good Friday, but the one that really caught my attention was the Vesak Poya, which is the festival of lights. That's where they launch fireworks and lights, which is the best because my favorite holiday is July 4th because of the fireworks. Some of the languages they use include Tamil, Sinhala, or English. So, after writing about this, I'm debating running away to Sri Lanka...Nicki Minaj, here I come!!!!
Indian food?!!
I think that it would be really cool to go to India and try all of their main meals. Speaking of main courses, some of them are curry, fragrant biryani, and spicy dahl. Also, most of India's food include many spices and/or seasonings for more flavor. I really like spices because they make the food more flavorful and more enjoyable to eat. Indian desserts have many different choices to choose from. Including gulab jamun, gajar ka halwa, and sandesh. All of these desserts have one thing in common, they all are super sweet! Anyway, Indian food has many different flavors and ingredients that make it all taste so yummy!
Mt.Everest
Mt. Everest
Mt. Everest is located in Nepal. Here are some facts about Mt. Everest. Mt. Everest is 29,035 feet crazy right. The summit is the border of Nepal to the south and China or Tibet on the north, it is over 60 million years old. Everest was formed by the movement of the Indian tectonic plate pushing up and against the Asian plate. Over 290 climbers have died to try to climb Mt. Everest, and more than 4,000 people have made it to the top successful. Jorden Romero was the youngest to ever climb Mt.Everest he was 13 years old. Everest grows by about a quarter of an in (0.25") every year. Who you ever want to climb Mt.Everest? I would love to climb this it would be amazing.

Raksha Bandhan, Respect your Siblings
Have you ever gotten extremely angry with your sibling? For example, remember when you were playing Fortnite the other day and then he/she just walked in somehow causing you to eliminate yourself? I have personally experienced and it just seems impossible that you'd ever want to love them. But in India, that love is exercised during the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Every August to secure the bond, sisters tie a thread around their brother's wrist to protect their bond while the brother in return gives gifts and promises protection to their sister. But that's not the end. Your mom, dad, and any other part of your family are also celebrated during the festival. However, that's still not it! Raksha Bandhan also exercises bonds between close religions or pretty much any at all. If you're a Catholic, you can still end up with a protective thread around your wrist! Well, you're probably wondering why they do this. Legends of the Raksha tell that Rani Karnavati, a Hindu queen, and Mughal Emperor Humayun, a Muslim ruler, were in the midst of a war but Rani knew she could not win. So she sent Mughal a Rakhi making him her technically her brother and promised protection by sending troops to protect his country. As a result, today the tradition is practiced annually to help protect the bond between brothers and sisters.
I'm aware that the word "because" does not show up at all in my post but I can make it up to you right now with a completely random sentence.
"I went to Canada with my two brothers, sister, and parents during Spring Break because much of my heritage comes from there."
Happy now? I even added all of the other three grammar fixes as a bonus.

Afghanistan foods
There are lots of different types of food in Afghanistan, but my favorite ones are Mantu, Pulao and Kababs. Mantu contains meat filled dumplings steamed and topped with yogurt, onion, and garlic. Also, some people use leek instead of meat. Pulao is a popular food in Afghanistan. It contains steamed rice with carrots and raisins. Pulao is usually served with meat. Finally, Kababs are variety of cooked meat dishes. Some of the Kababs I know in Afghanistan are chicken kabab, lamb kabab, seekh kabab, and chapli kabab. In Afghanistan, Kababs are served with naan and rice. What is your favorite food?
The Most Amazing Indian Foods!
There are some crazy foods, some beautiful foods, and some incredibly delicious foods in India. Some crazy foods are Red Ant Chutney made our of red ants, Frog Legs, which is exactly what it sounds like, and Steamed Hornets. I would think they would poison you when you eat them because they are poisonous if they sting you, but I guess they aren't, otherwise, people wouldn't eat them. A few very pretty Indian foods are sevaya kahir or vermicelli milk pudding, chole bhature, and shrikhand or sweet yoghurt with saffron and pistachios. This is what they look like:
A few delicious foods that I found are Mango Lassi, a mango smoothie that tastes REALLY GOOD, fried banana and rice four balls, which is made mostly of banana purée, grated coconut, and jaggery syrup, Goan coconut cake, which is a cake with four types of coconut and rose water. Are there any Indian foods that you like that I didn't include?

The Festival of Lights
Diwali is the festival of lights and is one of the most important and celebrated festivals in India. The festival marks the victory of good over evil and theres 5 days in it. On the first day people think it's auspicious to clean up and shop for gold or kitchen tools. Then, on the second day they decorate their home with clay lamps called rangoli. After those two days it's the day of the festival where you can eat food, light fireworks, and give prayers to Lakshmi. The fourth day it will be first day of the new year when friends and family come and give gifts. Finally, on the final day brothers go visit their sisters and are welcomed with a meal. I personally think Diwali sounds like a good festival to celebrate, do you?
Culinary dishes that are located or originated in the 94th largest country
In case you couldn't tell (unless you look it up or memorized each country by size because you have no life sorry to be mean) I'm talking about Nepal. I searched for interesting foods in Nepal, and although you may not find them interesting, I do, because I'm a picky eater and if I learn about new foods I might want to try some and I won't be a picky eater (hopefully), so, I found Momo, Gorkhali lamb, Pulao, and Thukpa. (As a side note I'm not sure if they're proper nouns, so I capitalized them.)
1. Momo
A flour based dough is wrapped around steamed vegetables or meat and is then fried, almost like a dumpling. It is served as a snack with strong spicy dip.
2. Gorkhali lamb
Lamb is first slow cooked in curry with onions and potatoes before it is removed, grilled, and sealed with a spicy chili mix. It is then transferred back into the curry and cooked a bit more. It is served with rice and roti.
3. Pulao
It's basically fried rice, seasoned with turmeric and cumin.
4. Thukpa
It's a hot noodle soup with meat and vegetables, the meat can be yak, goat, lamb or chicken and is carefully seasoned

Those are a small bite of Nepalese food. Do you think you might want to try some of these? If so, why?

Typical food in Bangladesh!!
Rice is the staple food in Bangladeshi. It is usually served with a variety of curries such as vegetable and chicken. The main breads are naan, paratha, roti, bakarkhani and luchi. Also, "Dal" is the second staple food. Dal are dried and split lentils. They also eat a huge variety of meats. They eat, naan, porota, roti, bakarkhani and luchi! Now onto the best and biggest food branch, the desserts. They have so many desserts! They have this dessert that looks really good called Imarti. It is deep fried and it has an orange color. It flower shaped and very sweet. It looks SO GOOD! Another sweet the Kalo Jam. It is a brown sugary ball with sweet syrup all around it, this also looks very good. All in all Bangladesh food looks and probably tastes really good.
The beauty of the Maldives!
South Asia is full of many beautiful sights, but the Maldives are the most beautiful in my opinion. First, there is the Baros island. If you want a moment away from the crowd, this place is perfect for you. There are some of the bluest beaches I have ever seen, and it is a breathtaking sight. Also, I would love to visit Male Island. That's because I want to visit some cities as well. It is a beautiful capital with restaurants, buildings, and tourist attractions that can entertain you all day. Another place there is Rangali Island. In this island, you can go and do family activities like snorkeling, shopping, swimming with dolphins, and more things. The Maldives is full of places I would love to go to!
The Decline of India
I am worried about India's current position because many bad things are happening there. An organization, The Shiksha Bachao Andolan Committee has called Jewish scholar Wendy Doniger's book called "The Hindus" into question. They called it "Hurting the sentiments" of Hindus. Other bad things happening are the closing of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute. It contained one of India's best historical archives. The Jaipur Literary Festival was compelled to not video call the Booker Prize-winning author, Salman Rushdie. M. F. Hussain has decided to leave India because he felt he had no choice. All of these reasons India is declining are worrying to me.
Daishan - Louis Boyang
Daishan is the most important festival in Nepal. People return back to the country from various places to celebrate the holiday. the holiday consists of a total of 15 days. The most important of them are the first, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth.
On the first day of the festival, someone will place a Kalash (a pot) in the center of a large sand block. The Kalash will hold holy water. The holy water will be covered with cow dung and then sprinkled with barley seeds.
On the seventh day, a major celebration is held. the Kalash, banana stalks, Jamara, and sugar cane are brought by Brahmins (people of high standing in the caste system) from the former kingdom Gorkha.
On the eighth day, sacrifices will be made of goats, hens, ducks, and buffaloes to the goddess Kali. At the end of the day, 54 buffaloes will be sacrificed along with 54 goats. At the end of the ceremony, families will take home the meat, serve it on tiny leaf plates to the household gods and then the family will eat.
On the 9th day, official military sacrifices will be held in one of the Hanuman Dokha palaces. Artisans, craftsmen, traders, and mechanics will sacrifice animals and will put animal blood on their own vehicles and tools. They will also worship the god Vishvakarman on that day.
On the tenth day, yogurt vermillion, and rice will be mixed together and made by the women. the mixture is called "Tika". Elders will put tika on the forehead of younger people.
On the very last day, people will worship the goddess Laxmi. It is said that the people that stay up during the night will be given wealth and prosperity. Most people that celebrate the festival will just stay up all night playing cards and other games.
This celebration, Daishan, is filled with all types of interesting and cultural things. I would love to travel to Nepal because of how amazing the country is. If I was in Nepal, I would celebrate the festival. Would you?

The BEST Food in South Asia
So you want to know the best food in South Asia!? Well if you do, then keep reading. The number one best food is Chicken Curry. Holi-Festival of colors
Holi is the Indian festival of colors. While Holi is celebrated in many different countries, such as Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad, Tobago, South Africa, and Malaysia, most people associate it with India. Now I know that you might be thinking, "what's so special about Holi?" Well, let me start with what Holi is. Holi is the Festival of colors, celebrated in spring. The reason Holi is celebrated because it symbolizes the victory of good over evil in Indian culture. Holi celebrations start on the night before Holi with a bonfire where people gather, perform religious rituals in front of the bonfire, and pray that their internal evil be destroyed the way Holika, the sister of the demon king Hiranyakashipu, was killed in the fire. The next morning, it's a free-for-all festival of colors. People smear others with color and drench each other. When I say that there is a lot of colors, I mean there is a LOT of colors. Everyone gets covered in colored powder. In the evening, after sobering up, people dress up and visit friends and family to talk, laugh, and share Holi delicacies. So that it about Holi. It sounds really fun, right?
