The Weird Foods of Pakistan

Up until 1947, Pakistan was a part of India. Pakistani food has Indian roots but the food represents a mixture of Irani, Afghani, Persian and the from the different use of herbs, flavorings, and sauces. One of the of the bizarre food from Pakistan is a dessert called Shahi Tukra. Shahi Tukra is made with bread, milk, cream, sugar and a spice called saffron. Another is called Raita. Raita is a yogurt and vegetable salad. The ingredients include plain yogurt, vegetables such as, spinach, cucumber and onion, cayenne pepper, and much more. I think that Raita would be an interesting food to try because you can't find anything like it here! Would you want to try either of these recipes?
