The Nelios River
The Nile is the longest river in the world. It is about 4,160 miles long. The word Nile comes from the Greek word Nelios. The Nile River is always associated with Egypt but only about 22% of the river is in Egypt and then it drains into the Mediterranean Sea. The other 78% of the river is in Africa. In Egypt, the Egyptians used the river for farming and living resources. They used the soil to produce food for both animals and themselves. I wonder what Egypt would have done without The Nile?

Nice job Kelly! I didn’t know the Nile was that long. Usually when we think of the Nile we think of Egypt, so it is cool to know only 22% of it is actually in Egypt. I don’t think Egypt would have been as successful without the Nile.
ReplyDeleteWhat would you think if I told you that 100% of the Nile is in Africa?
