Ancient Greek Religion.
Religion was a big part of peoples lives in ancient Greece. The people believed in many different gods that represented many different things; such as war, wisdom, love, and sea. The people built sanctuaries, also known as temples, to worship the gods. In some city-states certain gods even had their own sanctuaries. The people believed that the gods were supposed to bring gifts and favors to the people. People also sacrificed animals in the temples for the gods, animals like sheep, oxen, and goats. The Greeks also believed that the Gods lived on the highest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus, ruled my Zeus, the king of all Gods.
