‘Cabin Rules’ or ‘Cabin Rules!’???

In our cabin, we had 16 people (including the counselors), so it was obviously a hassle (an effort) to get everyone together and listening. That’s why we were all late, to every single activity, for a whole day. Put that aside, and our cabin was definitely the most amicable (friendliest)! All of us were either best friends or mutual friends, so there were no fights. Still, we got on each others nerves sometimes. So our counselors came up with a great idea: talking sessions, where we would be able to get out all of our feelings with no judgement. But wait, there’s a twist! This would be happening after lights out. We would wait for ten minutes after the teachers checked up on us, and then get up and sit in a circle. We would all say things that annoyed us in the cabin, if there were any, and then we would find a way to disentangle (solve) the problem. We only did this for one night, but it brought us closer together as friends and as a cabin! Have you done any "rule breaking" at camp?

  1. Taya, your camp experience sounds like a blast! I can’t say that my cabin broke any rules, but we were late to a few activities. I am quite sure that everyone got on each others nerves one point or another during the trip, even though we were all good friends or mutual friends. My cabin also did the “sitting in a circle” thingy. Although, we didn’t say anything negative about the cabin, we shared stories like if something scary, exciting, joyful etc. happend to you. We also did it when the sky was still lit, not while we should have been sleeping;p !
