The Ancient Greece

The ancient Greeks were in a way all islanders because some live on real islands, others on small peninsulas and some on land islands. Land islands are mountains that separate the people in small communities from one another. It was difficult for Greeks from different cultures to meet because each community developed in its own customs and beliefs. The Greeks were so busy fighting among themselves that it was easy to forget that they shared a common heritage, spoke the same language, and worshiped the same gods. Two ancient peoples, the Minoans and the Mycenaeans, made important contributions to Greek civilization. The Greeks were the people who thought of doing the Trojan war by using a wooden horse and the Greek warriors hid inside. The Troy people thought it was a gift and brought it inside the gate and at night the Greek warriors crept out of the wooden Trojan Horse. The Greeks burned, looted Troy, and went home. After the Trojan war, civilization in Greek collapsed. No one knows why but life went on but there was poverty everywhere. No one traded beyond Greece for goods or food. They just stuck with what they have raised or made themselves. They were so concerned with survival that they even forgot the practice of writing. Why do you think the Greeks civilisation collapsed?
