The Nile River. (Sorry for the Boring Tilte)

The Nile River was a great importance to the Egyptians because it shaped their world view. The Nile was one of the safest richest rivers you could find. Egyptians lived along the Nile which they navigated down stream to find their precious timber and gold. In fact, the Nile was so calm that the Egyptians used a simple type of irrigation called “basin irrigation”. Every year the Nile would flood at the right time, providing rich soil called silt. Farming was so easy that the Egyptians would literally throw seeds out and let their cattle stomp on them. Variety of plants would grow like asparagus, artichokes, bulbs, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, garlic, leeks, etc. That means lots of food surpluses were happening.
Egyptians had a lot of time on there hands, so they were able to build some amazing things.(Pyramids, temples, art, etc.) The Nile also explains why the Egyptians were so positive about the afterlife. They believed the afterlife was a continuation of their life, so they were pretty much set. If I was an Egyptian I could definitely get used to that lifestyle. What type of person would you want to be in Egypt?
